In Everybody’s Minds The Lights Are Turning On. There is no doubt everyone has needed to re-evaluate water use. We are all learning to turn off water sooner, watch for leaky pipes and maybe even harvest rainwater. We will also learn that landscape plantings can be tough and that we don’t need to drench them with water.

How About 24 Inches Of Rain! Let's talk about the rain we have had. In the first 9 months of 2007 we had 23.61” of rain - for comparison, Las Vegas averages 4.13” for 12 months. The contiguous United States averages about 30” of rain each year. Yes, we need rain and our reservoirs need rain, but still our plants are long way from turning into tumbleweeds and Atlanta homeowners are a long way from needing plastic shrubs.

Everything Old Is New Again. Before there were reservoirs and elaborate irrigation systems, this area still had beautiful gardens. People simply used plants that earned their keep. Since 1981, Allgood Outdoors has been planting plants that do well in all sorts of conditions. We naturally prefer plants that “live good”. These are wonderful plants that you see every day and you see them in places where you know they are not being pampered.
